The photo to the left shows the empty hall interior from the front anteroom. To the left can be seen the 80" smart television/monitor, use of which is available to hall hirers. The piano is playable but currently requires tuning.
The two photographs below show the layout for a formal dinner, set for 72 guests, taken from opposite ends of the room.
The normal entry to Freemason Hall is via the door at the rear of the building, on the southern end of the western side, adjacent to the carpark.
The ground floor hall consists of a small rear entry foyer adjacent to the carpark, a main hall with a sprung timber floor and anteroom at the front from which the male and female toilets are accessed. There is also a small kitchenette suitable for making tea and coffee for small groups.
The hall is approximately 14.6 metres long by 9.2 metres wide, an area of approximately 137 square metres. The capacity is dependent on the purpose. We usually suggest a maximum of 60 people, although 72 people have been very comfortably accommodated for a table seated dinner. While the fire safety assessment is close to 200, realistically the air conditioning units limit the capacity to the 60 to 70 people we recommend, for any active function, particularly during the buildup.
The sprung, timber floor in the main hall is not perfectly flat, suffering from board warping in this tropical climate, but that characteristic has been substantially reduced by the recent installation of humidity controlled, underfloor ventilation fans.
